Recipe Notes
- Ingredient Quality: Use fresh, tart apples (like Granny Smith) for the best flavor contrast with the sweetness of butterscotch. When using sweeter variety of apples, I like to add more lemon juice to contrast!
- Butter Temperature: Ensure the butter is at room temperature for the topping to achieve the right crumble texture.
- Cooling Time: Let the crisp cool before serving to allow the filling to set slightly for that gooey goodness.
- Serving Suggestions: Consider serving with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added richness.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
Enjoy and good eats!
